Our Story
Cougar Painting was founded on a simple belief: homeowners and business owners deserve more than just a quality paint job. They deserve a contractor who communicates clearly, follows proven processes, respects their property, and delivers on their promises.
Before starting Cougar Painting, I spent my career in Corporate America, where I learned the importance of communication, organization, accountability, proven systems, and creating an exceptional customer experience. My background in collegiate athletics also taught me teamwork, discipline, preparation, and always striving to improve.
Those experiences became the foundation of Cougar Painting and continue to influence how we operate today. Every project is built around professionalism, transparency, quality workmanship, and treating every customer's property as if it were our own.
Our goal has never been to become the biggest painting company. Our goal has always been to become one of the most trusted. Today, we're proud to serve homeowners, businesses, HOAs, multifamily communities, and property managers throughout the Kansas City Metro by providing exceptional painting services, exterior repairs, and an outstanding customer experience.
Our Process
A proven process designed to deliver exceptional results and a better customer experience.
Consultation & Detailed Proposal
We begin with an on-site consultation to understand your goals, evaluate the project, identify repair needs, and provide a detailed written proposal outlining the scope of work.
Color Selection & Project Planning
We help guide color selections, confirm project details, review scheduling preferences, and finalize your project plan. Before work begins, customers review and approve project specifications to ensure everyone is aligned on expectations, colors, and scope of work.
Preparation, Repairs & Painting
Our team completes all necessary preparation, including cleaning, surface repairs, wood rot replacement, caulking, priming, and professional paint application using premium products and proven processes.
Final Walkthrough & Completion
Every project concludes with a detailed walkthrough to review the completed work, address any final touch-ups, and ensure expectations are met before project completion.

We had our house painted this weekend by Roy and his team. They replaced a lot of wood rot for us and painted the whole house. They were extremely thorough and did an amazing job. Our neighbors have even commented that they watched them work and said they were so skilled. Amy was very easy to work with as far as getting an estimate, getting scheduled, and picking colors. Overall, we are thrilled with Cougar Painting.

Roy's team were exceptional workers. We were having an extreme heat wave and they worked through it. They were very detail oriented in their work. Very thorough in the clean up. Really appreciated them.
Cougar Painting painted the exterior of our home. From start to finish it was seamless. Amy was so easy to work with and her communication was amazing. Roy and his crew were fabulous. These guys worked so hard while dealing with the heat and humidity. They cleaned up every day after themselves, picking up all trash and debris from the day. We are thoroughly pleased with the job they did and so happy we chose to work with them. Thank you Cougar Painting!!!
I can’t say enough great things about Cougar Painting! Joe and his crew did an outstanding job—from painting and stucco work to repairing and repainting interior areas after storm damage. The gray-washed front stone turned out beautifully and really elevated the look of our home. Professional, thorough, and high-quality work all around.
